We’re thrilled to share some big news from the international stage — Lough Gill Brewery has just taken home three major awards at the Concours International de Lyon 2025, one of the world’s most respected tasting competitions for beer, wine, and spirits.
Even better? One of our beers was named Best Beer from Ireland in the entire competition. A proud moment for Sligo, and for Irish craft beer!
The Winning Beers
Pain & Perfection — Sour Beer Category
Bold, complex, and unapologetically tart — this sour brings balance and finesse to the category. A wild ride for the taste buds and a standout among global entries.
Spear — Wood & Barrel Aged Beer Category
Our 13% ABV bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout continues to raise the bar. Rich with aromas of whisky and sherry barrels, this powerhouse brew delivers bold flavour, warming depth, and silky balance.
Torc — Wood & Barrel Aged Beer Category
A decadent creation with coconut, whisky barrel, and Madagascan vanilla notes, Torc stood out so strongly it was awarded:
